AFFILIATES RESOURCES

Here are some guidelines and some resources to help make you successful.

Quick reference for this page:

  1. RULES
  2. TARGET MARKET FOR THE COURSE
  3. RESOURCES (downloadable assets and resources to help you in your marketing efforts.)

(If you’ve read all these rules before and you want to go directly to the resources for marketing, click here)

BUT please be familiar with the rules.  If you break any of them, you won’t be an affiliate with us very long.

Rules

(Do’s and Don’ts … how to not get banned as an affiliate)

Whether you’re a seasoned affiliate marketing pro or newer to affiliate marketing, please check out our rules for our course’s affiliates.  Before telling you about all the “Don’ts,” I thought I’d give you a frame of reference for how we see our affiliate relationship with you.   Your role, as far as we see it, is that you’re kind of like a fan of ‘The Dog’s Way Online Video Training Course.’  We’ve had tons of students who have used the course, loved the results with their dogs, and recommended that their friends, neighbors, and relatives buy it as well.  That’s the best way we can describe how we see those of you who decide to be an affiliate for our course, someone who loves the course and recommends that their friends and online followers buy it.

So, with that reference in mind, here’s what we’d like you to DO and NOT do as it relates to representing yourself as an affiliate.

How to Represent yourself as an affiliate

  • as someone who has used the course and loved it and recommends it to others
  • Or represent yourself as someone with at least second-hand experience with someone who has used and loved the course. For example, – “My brother used this course with his dog, and he just loved the results!”

Please DO NOT claim or imply:

  • That you are a salesperson for The Dog’s Way
  • That you are an employee of The Dog’s Way
  • That you had a part in creating the course
  • That you personally know Sean (unless you really do, of course, and then that’s cool!)

(In case you’re wondering, those Don’t in the list above are all there because we’ve had people who have attempted to claim those things in past affiliate representation. )

 … I know, right?! That’s what I said?! 😊

Sean recommends that people in this scenario work with a trainer in person instead.)
  • Ideally, you’d view and use the video course with your own dog (or talk a friend or family member into using the course to give you first-hand feedback.

  • Affiliates must NOT link directly to The Dog’s Way site, landing pages, or our shopping cart. Direct linking to landing pages, cart, or order forms from any ads is not allowed and will result in a permanent ban as an affiliate.

Target Market for the Course

(How to decrease your return rate)

The course is targeted toward two distinct groups:

The non-food-motivated dog

The course teaches a non-food-based, say-and-show method of dog training that is great for dogs that aren’t food motivated enough to learn dog training through a purely click-and-treat method.

The dog that only listens if you’ve got treats

The course teaches a methodical protocol that teaches a dog that there’s a “have to” component to obedience work so that they become reliable in real-life situations.

Email Swipes

I know, you were probably expecting some form emails that sound quippy that you could copy and paste. I’d propose something different. I’d like to have a direct conversation with you and let you write to your followers in your own voice and style. I think that may be more genuine and make you more money in the long run. Contact me directly here if you’d like to have that conversation.

All the best,
Sean
